While the flow of new Xbox games for Windows Phone has slowed this year, the number of free to play games in the Xbox lineup continues to grow. These titles rely on In-App Purchases (IAPs) for revenue.
Users who enjoy a game and feel motivated to purchase content can do so, while other players can simply play without spending. We’ll be profiling the In-App Purchases of each new free to play or IAP-heavy mobile Xbox title that comes along. We’ve already looked at the from Gameloft; this week we explore the purchases in Electronic Arts’ for Windows Phone 8. Read on to learn exactly what IAPs the game has in store and which offer the best values. Dueling currencies The Windows Phone version of The Sims FreePlay has two types of currencies: Simoleons and Life Points.
Unlike many free to play games, players can earn both types of currency through regular gameplay – and I don’t mean by winning some daily lottery. Still, both currencies can be purchased from the in-game store as well. To access the store, select the purple shopping cart icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen. The store is divided up into three sections. Annoyingly, you have to choose an item and head to the purchase screen in order to actually view its price (just as with the iOS version). Naturally we’ll list the prices right here for your convenience. Simoleons These are traditional Sims currency, represented by a green circle with a white shape inside.
Simoleons are used to purchase houses, buildings, businesses, furniture, appliances, and several other items. Your Sims earn Simoleons by performing a variety of actions: • Gardening: A great source of both money and XP. A garden patch costs only 20 Simoleons, so you might as well install more than one.

• Baking: Another good source of money and XP. • Jobs: Adult Sims can get a variety of jobs, all with different working hours and pay. Increase your Sim’s job level and he or she will earn more pay.
• Pets: Your dog or cat can find various quantities of money and on very rare occasions, life points. • Ghost hunting: Buy one or more haunted decoration items and your Sims can take up ghost hunting as a hobby. Select the haunted item and choose to have the Sim look for ghosts.
After your Sim finds the ghost, tap the red ghost icon and then tap the ghost three times before it escapes. You’ll earn money for the capture.
Multiple Sims can ghost hunt simultaneously, but you’ll need one haunted item per Sim. The Pro Skater’s Dream Pad includes a free skeleton in its rec room. Make sure you use it.
• Other hobbies: Oh yeah, some other hobbies pay money too. • Daily bonus: Every day you’ll receive a different quantity of Simoleons in the mail. • House and building revenue: All houses and many buildings produce money over time. Visit the town map to collect it. • Driving: When a Sim drives a car, it produces musical notes. Follow the car around and hit those notes for small quantities of money.
It’s not especially worthwhile though. • Competitions: After building a Competition Center, your Sims who have hobbies can compete to earn prizes, including Simoleons and Life Points. Simoleon packages: Note: quantities vary by player level. • Handful of Cash – 5,500 Simoleons - $4.99 (1,100 Simoleons per dollar) • Pile of Cash – 13,500 Simoleons - $7.99 (1,687 Simoleons per dollar) • Piggy Bank of Cash – 19,000 Simoleons - $9.99 (1,900 Simoleons per dollar) • Sack of Cash – 32,500 Simoleons - $14.99 (2,167 Simoleons per dollar) • Trunk of Cash – 108,000 Simoleons - $19.99 (5,400 Simoleons per dollar) • Bank of Cash – 430,000 Simoleons - $49.99 (8,600 Simoleons per dollar) • Treasury of Cash – 1,080,000 Simoleons - $99.99 (10,800 Simoleons per dollar) Most free to play games give better deals on larger quantities of currency.
But Sims FreePlay provides unusually high values on the more expensive packs. Of course, that means the low priced packs aren’t too great a value; the $5 pack provides so few Simoleons as to be practically worthless. Each subsequent houses and building you buy costs more than the one before it; eventually they get pretty expensive. If you find yourself unable to afford a building or other expensive item needed for a goal or Achievement, your choices are to wait and earn the Simoleons or just buy them from the store. Of the Simoleon packages, I find the $20 package most attractive. Life Points Life Points are used to buy premium homes, vehicles, and many other items.
Most importantly, Birthday cakes (needed to advance babies to toddlers and toddlers to preteens) and higher quality wedding rings cost Life Points. Goals can be skipped for five Life Points. Additionally, actions can be sped up at a rate of one Life Point per hour.
There are several ways to earn Life Points: • Goals: Many goals pay in Life Points, though not all. • Town worth: Reaching town worth milestones pays in Life Points. • Hobbies: Reaching milestones in a hobby will sometimes pay out in Life Points. After maxing out a hobby, players can choose to start over in the hobby and earn the same rewards again. • Pets: On very rare occasions, pets can find Life Points for you.
• Competitions: Like Simoleons, Life Points can be won at the Competition Center. First prize is three Life Points. Your Sim will need to be maxed out in a hobby to win first prize. Life Points packages: Note: quantities vary by player level.
1st- Have your sim doing something. Planting, at a job, watching a movie,etc. 2nd- once you have that, press the home button once, then press it twice 3rd- find the red dash button and press it(it won't delete the app) 4th- go to settings and change the date(by years not the days) and time(by hours not minutes) 5th- go to sims app and press the home button 6th- go to date and time and change it to the present date and time. 7th- go back to the sims app and you should get $$ and XP. It worked for me and hopefully works for you!
I did these tasks on the iPod touch. I don't know if It works on iPad/iPhone. This cheat is to get a lot of money in a few steps 1) Go to a sim's house 2) In the store select the social button 3) 'buy' for free any thing and put it in any free space in the house a lot of times until you full it 4) Go to settings (.), press the blue button, is like a key hole 5) Log out from facebook and game center 6) Go again to that sim's house 7) Open the store and choose the move and sell button 8) Sell all the things that you got for free and you will get a lot of money for each object you sell **Like if it worked for you**.
This is a pretty easy cheat that doesn't involve changing the time on your phone! I've tried time cheats and while some have worked, they've messed up my party boat and I have to wait 1000 more hours before my next gift:/ so I discovered this one and it gets you a ton of money without a risk of messing up your game! Here's what you do: -go on the sims and make sure you are connected to Facebook via the party boat. It should show how many neighbors you have on the top bad of your game. -go to any house. I've emptied several of my houses so they are nothing but empty rooms, as it makes this cheat much easier.
-go to the 'social' section of the home store. It will allow you to buy items based on however many neighbors you have. -buy items, as many as you want! They are completely free when you have enough neighbors. The record player gives the most money in the end, so I recommend that. What I do is I fill my empty houses with record players completely!
-go back to the party boat and log out of Facebook. Once you've done so it should now say you have 0 neighbors. -go back to the house(s) where you places the 'social' items. -sell off the items, and it will now come back in simoleons! -repeat as much as you want, it works every time This cheat is a little time consuming, but it can get you a ton of money! Record players get you $1250 a piece- that's $5000 for every four you sell! It's a fantastic way to make money when you're low on simoleons.
It's helped me complete several goals and build up my city much faster! Hope this helped. All the other 5-10k cheats have stopped working for me so I decided to experiment and found this one that works for me all the time even after the xmas update. Go to sims freeplay 2. Exit the app and go to settings 3.change the time so it's off automatic and change the year to 2000 4. Exit settings double click for that bar to come up, delete sims freeplay from it by holding the app down (with your finger!) and click the minus (this does not affect or delete your sims!) 5. Go back to your sims and make them all do an action, such as have a meal or socialise.
Exit sims freeplay AGAIN 7. Go back to settings and scroll back up to 2013, then click set automatic. Go back to sims freeplay and BOOM 5K has just appeared and all your sims are inspired This has worked everytime for me however none of the others have so if this has not worked for you, I'm very sorry. If you already read this, and didnt understand or didnt work, I suggest you read this and try again.;D Well, I don't actually know if this works on iphone since I'm using an iPad 2. Well first gather your sims in a house. Make them inspired, then let them plant (all of them) [i would recommend a higher payback, like beans] then close the app, double press the home button then press and hold the game icon, then when the red minus sign is out, press it.
Go to your settings, remove the set automatically, then set the date to year 2011 E.g. May 5, 2012 Change it to May 5, 2011 Then go back to the game. Then press the home button twice and go to the settings now change the time For example,/ 5:00 Pm Becomes 5:01 am Add a minute just to be sure;D Then go back to the game, and you still see I didnt work go back to settings and change it again E.g. 5:01 am To 5:02pm Then go back to the game. Ypu're beans are ready for harvest.:D Remember that you have to change the time twice bfor it will work. You go on the game 2. Then on it, tap the purple cart, and while it's loading ( should say connecting to store) CLOSE the app (home button) 3.
Go to general >date and time and change the year to 2000 4. Double press the home button so you get the history of the apps you've been to, and then hold sim freeplay and tap the minus (Wont delete the app) 5. Go to freeplay, and then go to the purple cart again and then when it loads, it should say, server timed out, please try again. Press the tick green button.
Go back to time and date, and put it to the date you were before. In my case, 2012 because it's not 2013 yet.
NOTE: This cheat is not mine, I saw this cheat on YouTube, and it worked for me, and the comments were positive that it worked. And I wanted to share it because this cheat seemed very uncommon. If your neighbours disappeared then relog in the social networks because the cheat logs it off. If your sims are frozen because they finished an action, then either go to the town, then re enter the house, or cancel the action. This will not finish buildings. Warning: This cheat works on iPad 2, don't know if it for iPhone. I'll put in in dot puts so its easy to understand Video is being uploaded as you do this cheat.

This is a cheat for Halloween update, *Go to settings and change year to 1970 (earliest time you can go to) *Double click home button and hold the Sims freeplay icon till it vibrates, when it does that a red and white - will come up press this to close. *Go back to the app after changing the time. *Then exit out of the app again after it loads. *Change the year back to where it was before (just turn auto time and date on again). *Go back to app and you should have extra cash. Adds 10k (less or more) Simelons.
Works for apple devices only. Here are the steps: 1. Plant stuff that will make the most money( A lot of sims working helps!) 2.click the home button. Click the home button twice then hold sims until red delete button shows (this will not delete it!) 4. Go to settings and change your date to as far forward as you can! Go on the sims game and BAM! Harvest and collect your revenue!!!!!!

First, you need to have the children's store. (I'm not sure of the exact name but it's a kids store.) and if you go to the store and go to the pre-teen section, you will see a karate dummy thing. Now if you try to buy this item in your sim's home it says it costs 18 SP (social points) However, when you go to buy it in the Children's Store it is free! So, buy a ton of them for free in the store and then go home and sell them each for $900!!
****(Anything that costs social points at home is free in the store, but this karate thing is the one that is worth the most)***. MERRY CHRISTMAS -completely close sims freeplay (dbl tap home and close there too) -go to - settings-general-date&time- change current year to 2010 -open sims freeplay and let it completely load -dbl tap home and go back to settings and change year back to current year -dbl tap home and go back into sims freeplay - it will reconnect servers and give you $$$ I got $15k on ipad2 $10k on iPhone 4 *note* I also did it when my mailbox showed a daily $$ drop off. I collected 7k, did the cheat, collect 7k again plus 15k on my ipad2.
I managed this loop 3 or 4 times before the cash in the mailbox stopped showing up. Works good for assigning lots of high XP tasks and once the cheat is done you get the completed XP. Have fun and add me as a friend through Game Center - wolfey75. 1.Make the time be automatic.
2.Get into the game and make them do a long time thing like hibernating or making a birthday cake. 3.Get out of the game, double tap home button, hold on to simsfreeplay app until it wiggles, then press the red minus sign in the corner. 4.Set time to December 31, 2013 at 12:00 AM 5.Get back into the game and money will see your action is finished, money is added you could've leveled up and got 1 Lp.
Works every time!I actually found this out myself when I was doing the 10 lp and finishing jobs earlier cheat. Open Freeplay 2. After completly loading press the home button. Go to Settings App 4. Turn Wi-Fi off 5. Go to General and scroll down to Date & Time 4.
Select Date &Time and turn Set Automatically to off 5. After this choose Set Date &Time 6. Set the DATE to and date as long as it is the PAST (I suggest setting it back on year) 7. Now go back to Freeplay 8.
An error will then pop up telling you there is no Internet connection and you need to retry. Now go back to Settings 10. Turn the Wi-Fi (Don't set the date back to normal) 11. Wait to get a connect and then go back to Freeplay 12. Press Retry 13. Now, while it's loading (Trying to reconnect), wait just a few seconds and quickly go back to settings 14. Go back to Date & Time and change Set Automatically to On 15.
Return back to Freeplay and wait for it to load (The loading process may appear to freeze but it's not so don't exit out of the App) Ta-the! You have 10,000 Simoleans and every one of your Sims are inspired! Works every time. I am level 12 and my Tome Value is 270,137. I use this several times throught the day. Even when I come back to Freeplay just for a minute. Go to your first Sim's house and call over all of the sims.

Make them grow a crop such as onions (10 hours and $800). Exit out of the Sims Freeplay and go to settings, general, date & time and change 'set automatically' to OFF. Click 'Set Date & Time' and change the year to 1970.
Double click the home button and close Sims Freeplay (tap the X). Open Sims Freeplay. After it has loaded exit it again and close it. Go back to setting and change 'Set Automatically' to ON this time. Go back to your sims. They should be done growing their crops and might be sick. For this to work you need to follow each instruction: 1.
Get all you sims to plant, bake, sleep (whatever gets you xp) 2. Double click the home button and hold down the sims game and press the little red minus button (it wont delete your game, I promse!) 3. Go to settings ->general -->date and time -->turn off 'set automatically' -->set date and time -->click on the year and change it a few years ahead 4. Go back to your game and let it load, you should have recieved 5 - 10,000 simoleans and your sims shouldbe fully inspired! They will probably be glitchy (easily fixed) just go back to date and time, change back to 2012 and just like that they will be fine! ** this also works if your building something and it does not give you lp only $**. Have all your sims planting.
Exit out of game and go to settings. Change date to 12/23/13 and set time a few hours past.
Next double click on home screen and delete app history. Return to game and all your plants should be done. Collect money/XP then exit game, go to date & time and press set automatically. If your party boat says over 7000+ hours keep on changing the date, for ex.
Dec 22, 23, 24 until you see the hours on the party boat go down. You can do this as many times as you'd like:-) Only works for iPhone/iPad. Ok so first, I have a rant. Do EA honestly think we have nothing else to do, but sit there all day and play their stupid game? I was level 65, and I got the teens update, only to discover, that it reset my game.
I was soooo pissed. Come on EA, we know your better than this! So while I was collecting my revenue (XP and simolieons off the map) I accidentaly tapped twice on the money. Surprisingly, it game me 2x the money!
So the little 5 came up, then it came up again! If you tap your money/XP up to 3 time, you get more! Sometimes this dosent work, and you go into the sims house This is the last working cheat for the sims freeplay that is known of:( I seriously hope EA gets their act together. Okay, first look up *discountsavingcards/sims*. Next, go to the sims and find what you want(sorry it can't be a package just Simoleons and Life points,sorry).
Then, type in the amount you want in the box, and click $ or LP. Finally, it automatically connects so don't worry about email, the moment you've been waiting for, you get the card and go to the sims,click on the exact amount you wanted in the small box and then buy it! It'll say *discount savings card was connected* then click buy and voila! ENJOY FREE SIMOLEONS AND LIFE POINTS PEEPS.
So I found out a way to move your baby out of the crib without having to complete the nanny quest or buy a rattle like people have suggested! The only thing is that you have to have a puppy or kitten in the house. If you do: 1. As the baby, click the puppy or kitten and select 'investigate the puppy/kitten' 2.
Then cancel this action 3. The baby's on the ground.
Now you can interact with the baby and complete all the actions otherwise unavailable unless the nanny quest is completed, I believe! I'm not sure if this glitch works for everyone, but give it a try! NOTE: This cheat can only be used at the beginning of the game When you have finished the tutorial and have control of your town, delete all other sims so you only have the one you started with. Demolish the houses that other sims lived in and in a house plot build the 'Unfurnished Studio' for free. Once it has finished building tap 'View House.' Sell everything including the rooms and plants. Demolish the house.
Repeat this process until you have enough to buy a 'Japanese Retreat' sell everything and make about $40,000. If you don't want to wait 24 hours for your cake to be done all you have to is go in to Sims the double tap your home button and delete sims from your history (this won't delete the game) the go into settings and Go to general and find date and time then change the date to somewhere in 2011 go back to sims then delete it from your history (again won't delete the game) then go back to settings and.
Change the date back to the current date And go back to sims when you do this you should get 20 thousand coins 2 LP and your birthday cake will be done this worked for me if it didn't for you please try again. Lots of people say you have to log into Facebook and stuff like that but this is one is easy and fast. I did it a few times and now I have an expensive cat, humongous pool and I expanded my house. -First, double tap the home button and close out of sims. -then, go to settings under general to date and time. Go back four years to get 15,000 coins and 1 LP or go to at least 7 years for 20,000 coins and 2 LP. -Next, go back to sims and repeat the first step.
-Then, go back to settings and return to the current time. -Finally, go back to sims and you should have lots of money repeat this for more coins and life points! Hope this worked for you!☺️ It worked for me many times! So this cheat only works once you have the teen idol mansion unlocked.
Also it works best the less houses/lots you own. For example the price to start this cheat will be lower the less houses you own. Now what you want to do is buy the teen idol mansion, (for me it is around 130,000 simoleons but the less houses you own, the cheaper it is, I recomsnd selling most of your houses until you can afford it, and then buying this because it is temporary and you can always rebuild your houses after you become a millionare!!) Now that you own the mansion, let it finish building, once completed. SELL THE POOLS!!! After selling all of the pool sets you will gain up to 850,000 SIMOLEONS!!!!!!!
Repeat this task and you will be a multimillionaire!!! This cheat is simple, first make sure you have less than 3 house already build because the more house you build the more expensive new houses will cost.
1: build a Japanese retreat (for me I have three houses build so it cause about 25 000 $) 2: When it build finish press it and press view house 3: sell everything including the rooms (by going to the room section and pressing a empty room. 4: after selling all the item and room you will get about 40 000$ and again the lesser house you have the more money you get. This cheat works on any Apple device but from my experience, it worked the best on my iPad. For this cheat you will have to have the social club built, but since it only takes 15 social points just keep doing neighbors task until you have enough points for this. You need at least 9-10 sims for this. Go to the club and have one person 'become' DJ.
Then have the rest of your sims dance to the music. The more sims you have the better, you get get XP just for dancing. The happier the sim is about dancing the XP they get.
So just keep making them dance to the DJ and your XP bar will jump like crazy. This is a super cool cheat which worked for me, but now I think you have to pay LP's for the items since the recent updates, but if you haven't updated the app for along time, it should still work. First you need to have the children's/preteens store in your town.
Keep clicking the toddlers sandpit and swing, and the preteens karate punch set, and the ballet music player. (As free items) buy as many as possible, I bought around 10,000 each. Go back to your home and get one of the items out. Click on sell, and they all sell for $500 and $300, keep doing this and you'll soon have thousands of simoleons hope this still works, because it got me thousands of simoleons in order to buy everything I needed thankyou for reading and I hope it works! Remember that EVERYONE should be doing something in ONE house. Step Two: Go to settings Step Three: Change the year to 1970 and the time to 5:00 AM Step Four: Double click the Home button and delete the Sims Freeplay app from your history. Step Five: Go back to the Sims app Step Six: After the game has been fully loaded, go back to settings.
Step Seven: Turn on Airplane Mode Step Eight: Back to Sims freeplay and then back to settings. Step Nine: Change the year and time back to the normal ones (or just click Set Automatically) Step 10: Go back to Sims.
It'll say that it can't be connected to the server. DO NOT CLICK RETRY. Step 11: Go back to settings and turn off airplane mode, Step 12: Go back to sims freeplay and your actions are done! This cheat is for the newest update, the Saddle Up!
I used this cheat on iPad 2. Don't use this cheat for finishing construction. The numbers just go crazy. Now this only works if you have the Lifestyle Points Locus Plant. When you first get the plant, it's 99 cent (real money) but I got a cheat for you guys. When you go outside to plant, you will have to go into settings and change the language to any language you want, then go back (make sure you don't push restart game) once you got back tap on the garden patch a couple of times until the locus LP plant pops up, once it pop up, you got your free LP locus plant! Then once you got all your Lifestyle points you need, you can change your language back to English.
Hurry up and get all the LP you need before next update. If there is any problems I will come back to check on ya, and help you guys out.
